Do your IoT solutions rely on our 2G or 3G network? Now is the time to transition so you stay connected.
This information relates specifically to One NZ IoT customers. Information relating to 3G shutdown for all other customers can be found here.
As the 4G and 5G rollout across Aotearoa increases momentum, it’s now time to look ahead and prepare to farewell the 2G and 3G networks from the end of December 2025.
We don’t expect to see any material reduction in coverage overall after our 2G and 3G networks are switched off. There may be changes to coverage at a limited number of specific locations due to propagation differences of the technologies. If you currently use a device that relies on 2G and 3G and don’t upgrade it, you need to be aware that your ability to connect to the coverage will be impacted after the 2G and 3G networks are switched off.
